Job Description
JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for a truck driver with 5+ years of experience and over the age of 25 (insurance requirements) to represent our company in a safe and professional manner. Our lanes are SC to GA, AL, VA and NC and return back to SC. We run electronic logs under the 70 hour rule. Drivers work every other weekend, delivering on a Saturday and leaving out on a Sunday to pick-up or drop-off.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Transport dry van goods to and from manufacturing plants and distribution centers.
· Conduct pre and post inspections daily for any mechanical issues.
· Plan routes according to Electronic Log (ELOG) to meet delivery schedules.
· Input “macros” into automated systems for each stage of the loading and unloading process as required by the brokers.
· Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
· Send daily text to Dispatch with in and out times.
· Scan BOL and email to dispatch.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Proven work experience as a long haul truck driver.
· Ability to drive within ELOG regulations.
· Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules.
· No recent moving or driving violations.
· Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc).
· Submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
· Valid truck CDL driving license.
