Job Summary/Basic Function To perform molecular genetics research experiments, assist in the training of graduate students, A postdoctoral research position is available for a motivated scientist to join our research program in molecular and cellular biology. The fellow will contribute to projects focused on understanding fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation, cell signaling, and molecular pathogenesis. This position offers opportunities to develop an independent research portfolio, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and gain experience in mentoring students.
Minimum Qualifications - Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline (degree must be completed by start date).
- Minimum of four years of laboratory research experience (including doctoral training).
- Demonstrated productivity through publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative academic community.
Preferred Qualifications - Mammalian and bacterial cell culture techniques.
- Core molecular biology and genetics approaches: PCR, gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid isolation, cloning, DNA/RNA transfection.
- Functional assays such as RNA silencing, microRNA analysis, and immunoprecipitation.
- Flow cytometry and protein expression analysis.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies (e.g., Ion Torrent or equivalent).
