We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of HUD and Section 8 affordable housing communities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of federal housing programs, compliance requirements, and strong tenant relations skills, with proven experience using Yardi Property Management Software .

Temp-to-hire position

Monterey Park, CA - Onsite

$30-$34/hr (DOE)

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day property operations, ensuring compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and other regulatory housing programs.

• Oversee resident recertifications, lease renewals, and annual inspections to maintain program compliance.

• Prepare and submit HUD reports, Section 8 documentation, and other required compliance records accurately and on time.

• Utilize Yardi to process rent collections, postings, adjustments, and generate financial and compliance reports.

• Supervise leasing, maintenance, and support staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality resident service.

• Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution while promoting positive resident relations.

• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, curb appeal, and adherence to housing standards.

• Coordinate vendor contracts, repairs, and maintenance activities within budget guidelines.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and occupancy trends to maximize property performance.

• Facilitate evictions and legal processes in compliance with housing laws and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in property management, with direct experience managing HUD and Section 8 housing.

• Strong working knowledge of HUD regulations, Section 8 program requirements, and affordable housing compliance.

• Proficiency in Yardi Voyager or Yardi Breeze required.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Property Management, or related field preferred.

• Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), or other affordable housing certification a plus.
