We are seeking an accounting specialist with experience in project based accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, prevailing wage calculations, and certified payroll reporting for a small company environment. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations for the company in addition to providing general accounting support.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for both salaried and hourly employees
• Manage and maintain payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Calculate and apply prevailing wage rates for government contracts and projects
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
• Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders
• Process and reconcile various payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
• Generate and distribute payroll reports for management and accounting purposes
• Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments
• Assist in year-end activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
• Support with various accounting tasks as assigned by department manager such as accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements, reconciliations

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a payroll processing and accounting support role
• Proficiency in payroll software systems & strong knowledge of federal/state wage and hour laws
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This is a full-time position reporting in office daily. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and discretionary bonus. $30-35/hr DOE.
