About the Role:

The Lifeguard plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons at aquatic facilities by actively monitoring swimming areas and responding promptly to emergencies. This position requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and the ability to perform lifesaving techniques such as CPR and first aid to prevent accidents and injuries. The Lifeguard also contributes to a positive and safe environment by providing swim instruction and guidance to swimmers of varying skill levels. Collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintaining high standards of aquatic safety. Ultimately, the Lifeguard is responsible for protecting lives while promoting a welcoming and secure atmosphere for all visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid from the American Red Cross or equivalent organization.
• Proven swimming ability and experience in swim instruction or lifeguarding.
• Strong understanding of aquatic safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with patrons and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications in advanced lifesaving or water safety instruction.
• Previous experience working in a public or private aquatic facility.
• Knowledge of local regulations and compliance standards related to aquatic safety.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train or mentor junior lifeguards.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor swimming areas continuously to identify and respond to potential hazards or emergencies.
• Perform rescues and administer CPR, AED, and first aid as necessary in emergency situations.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Collaborate with team members to conduct safety drills, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with American Red Cross standards.
