This company is in the process of establishing a high-speed, compact semiconductor fabrication facility and developing their own tools for swift enhancements and innovations. Their capabilities are extensive, including 3D printers, microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication equipment, with the ability to invent new solutions as needed.

They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who has 2+ years of experience across design, prototyping, simulation, and testing ideally in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

1. Design and develop precision mechanical components and systems
2. Work with manufacturing partners and equipment for prototyping and manufacturing mechanical systems
3. Evaluate and refine mechanical systems according to performance
4. Produce comprehensive documentation encompassing CAD designs, drawings, and design reasoning
5. Work on lithography, deposition, nanometer precision motion control, plasma etching systems, vacuum chambers, etc.

Required Qualifications

1. B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
2. 2+ years of industry experience as a Mechanical Engineer
3. Extensive experience with mechanical system analysis and design
4. Experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and manual machining
5. Experience with tolerance analysis and GD&T
6. Experience with SolidWorks / Onshape (FEA, 2D drawings, simulations, etc.)
7. Design experience for additive manufacturing and conventional machining
8. Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties for a variety of metals
9. Experience with precision engineering (nanoscale mechanical precision, microfluidics, vacuum chamber, etc.)

Ideal Candidate

1. Understanding of semiconductor processing
2. Experience with design for high voltage, EM fields, and vacuums
3. Python scripting and data visualization experience
